In the 2024 program, 10 teams from around the world learned about sustainability and competed online over 7 weeks from April to May to find the sustainability leaders of tomorrow.
The Winners of The 2024 Sustainability World Cup
The following two awards were based on game results, gameplay and a video submission:
- Sustainability World Champions: AmbassaT Team (from Africa)
- Best Sustainability Leader: Daniel Chidubem Gbujie (from Africa)
The following awards were based on game results only.
- Best Environmental Performance, Best Social Performance and Best Business for Prosperity: AmbassaT Team (from Africa)
- Best Governance Performance, Most Purposeful Business and Best Sustainable Growth: Kuipers Team (from East Europe)
- Best Sustainable Profits: Curupira Team (from Brazil)
- Lowest Carbon Footprint: Bamboo Brands Team (from Spain)
The winners were announced on Monday 10th June 2024.

In addition, there was an in-person Awards Celebration at The Digital Enterprise Show in Malaga, Spain on Tuesday 11th June.

During the program, participants:
- Learned about sustainability through a training programme delivered via a game
- Learned from experts with “live” Q&A sessions
- Improved their team-working skills
- Improved their communication and presentation skills
- Networked with other sustainability champions at an international level
- Downloaded valuable resources and know-how in the field
- Received certificates to add to their sustainability credentials
The Sustainability World Cup was created by Dr Leila Bardasuc and Edmund Bradford . It uses the Sustain2Win simulation for the gameplay.
We were also delighted to be in the Top 3 programs from across Europe to be nominated by the European Digital Mindset Awards for the Best Digital Project Oriented Towards Sustainability.
